2 Dimensinal Design (My Face)

The progress for my self portrait during 2 dimensional design class.

Warm up activity

Doing the portrait, the First things that we need to do is sketching ourselves.

Portrait doesn't means have to look as same as the picture.

Portrait is represent my personality, expression on my face and even the mood.

The instruction of self portrait is we cannot using method of painting, sculpting, tracing, collage ..

just using natural elements to complete our own portrait.''O.O

The Natural Elements that I used

• Red or green beans
   

• pasta noodles
   

• flowers
   

• leaves
   

• black glutinous rice
   

• Ferraro rocher

Going through the activity, I learned that doing the portrait was harder than I think

we have to create and understanding of Space for the elements we used to.

For instance, as we know different types of material, of course have different types of size.

so, we have to find a ways to create the space of elements between one another and as can show the details clearly on every parts of your face.

As well as create a line or curve on our face.

Just make full used that what I'm learned from Principle of design like Line, Shape, Colour, Texture.

Colour and Texture should join together. It can blending out the colour in the texture and at the same time possible to 'sharpen' the texture.

I'm still remember what Mr Sean said to us, ''try to feel the texture and observe the elements around us and try to put into our projects or assignments. It can help us a lot in design.''

That properly YES!!!

These are the pictures i took from many countries, as you can see i love the scenery of nature because this show the wonderfulness and beauty of the world.

From my research of "NATURE"

Nature, in the broadest sense, is equivalent to the natural world, physical world, or material world. "Nature" refers to the phenomena of the physical world, and also to life in general.

 



'How do i define nature'

 

Nature, is apart of my life.

Nature, is my soul.

Nature, inspired me.

Nature, relax my mind.

Nature, show the beauty of world

Nature, can express my feeling.

Nature, Nature, Nature.....

I hope I can become apart of Nature.
So, for my self portrait i will be using my own photo portrait and combine with nature.

LET SEE WHAT I FOUND ABOUT THE SELF PORTRAIT...


''self-portrait is a representation of an artist, drawn, painted, photographed, or sculpted by the artist. Although self-portraits have been made by artists since the earliest times, it is not until the Early Renaissance in the mid 15th century that artists can be frequently identified depicting themselves as either the main subject, or as important characters in their work. From the research of self portrait, i properly can understand but i have saw many 'painting' portrait.

Why any artist interested in portraiture should paint self portraits.
?WHY?
DO YOU EVER KNOW WHY ARTIST PAINTING THEIR SELF PORTRAIT?
or Painting self portrait is traditional or a style?

SO, i have do some research about it.
here are what i found again.

From another understanding of self portrait, self-portrait may be a portrait of the artist, or a portrait included in a larger work, including a group portrait. Many painters are said to have included depictions of specific individuals, including themselves, in painting figures in religious or other types of composition. Such paintings were not intended publicly to depict the actual persons as themselves, but the facts would have been known at the time to artist and patron,eating a talking point as well as a public test of the artist's skill.

 

Different type of portrait that i found.

 

Sandro Botticelli's painting of the Adoration of the Magi has an "inserted self-portrait". The position in the (right) corner, and the gaze out to the viewer, are very typical of such self-portraits.

this drawing was sharing his life in village.

 

Doing reserch of self portairts, as we know every portrait could be drawing, collage, sculpting, traching and many more.

Moreover, some of portraits inspired but music and throught the drawing we may find out the artist's feeling when doing the portrait.

 

Painting is not only for portrait as well as photo- portrait.

SWEET 18???

but for me is not at all, as a training designer in Taylor

is just started my nightmare.

cause my beauty sleep gonna spoil for this 4 years.

everyone just think become a designer, is easy than others.

People think design is not a popular and widely chosen career.

but what if the world don't have designer?

is it everything is just black and white?

is it everything just have the same shape and style?

So, let me show and prove it to you !!
